About CORE

Robert Miller PaintingFounded by the late Robert E. Miller, the organization grew out of a small golf event in 1992 meant to raise awareness for vocations and generate support for Conception Seminary College.

In the years that followed, hundreds of volunteers have helped raise hundreds of thousands of dollars to support our priests, seminarians and religious.  The original golf event with a dozen or so players has become the annual Priests and Seminarians Appreciation Day.  Every priest and seminarian, active and retired from the Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas and the Diocese of Kansas City-St. Joseph are invited as are those from the religious orders serving this area.

Over 300 golfers and card players including priests, seminarians, religious and their supporters enjoy a well deserved day of relaxation and appreciation. The event has even grown outside the Kansas City area, with groups in Colorado and Nebraska now hosting similar events.

CORE Mission

The purpose of CORE is to Celebrate Our Religious Enthusiastically.  In addition to the Annual Priests and Seminarians Appreciation Day, CORE supports the Serra Club’s Blisters for Sisters walk and is expanding to provide ongoing support to our clergy and religious in times of need.

Thank you for your support in the past and for your continued support in the future.
